Scissors
Various Donors
In our collection are several pairs of scissors for different specialised uses. These three examples are, from left to right –
- A pair of buttonhole scissors fitted with a swing out gauge between the handles which governs the length of the cut and standardises the size of a garment’s buttonholes – From the effects of Mrs Knight.
Accession No. 883/3 - A hairdresser’s scissors used to thin the customer’s hair – Donated by Kay Carter.
Accession No. 2184/7 - A pair of handforged scissors which will still cut paper for a left-handed user – Donated by Bill Ward-Allen.
