Tune In: The Sound of Cambridge
  01 May  -

Music has helped shape the social and cultural life of Cambridge for more than 150 years. Tune In: The Sound of Cambridge explores the people, places, instruments and performances that have created the soundtrack of our community.

From brass bands to dance halls, radio broadcasts and internationally successful rock bands, the exhibition traces how music has brought people together and reflected the changing times. Discover the stories behind treasured collection items including an early accordion, Edison wax cylinder recordingss and local memorabilia.

The exhibition also celebrates musicians with Cambridge connections, including composer David Farquhar, entertainer Billy T James, songwriter Ritchie Pickett, musician Paul Turney, and internationally acclaimed rock band The Datsuns.

Featuring historic photographs, and stories gathered from across the district, Tune In: The Sound of Cambridge reveals how music has connected generations and helped define our sense of place.
